Who this is for

Three kinds of business enquiry

Described by the documents involved, rather than by sector. Appointments are available at our Bristol office, or at your workplace or place of business.

In-house legal and company secretarial

Board and shareholder resolutions, minutes, certificates of incorporation, memorandum and articles, accounts and reports needing authentication for use abroad, together with certification of the identity of directors, secretaries and other company officers.

Company records & officer certifications

Documents notarised, then apostilled or legalised

Instructing on behalf of a client, where a document has to be notarised and then apostilled or legalised before it can be filed or relied on overseas. We deal with the notarial act, and arrange legalisation through specialised agents where it is needed.

Instructing for a client

Businesses trading or incorporating overseas

Documents used to set up a bank account or a branch office, such as good standing certificates, certificates of law and application forms. Also corporate powers of attorney, trademark assignments, share pledges, loan and mortgage documents, and the sale or purchase of commercial property and land abroad.

How the practice works

A named notary on every matter

Your matter is handled by Patrycja Sikorska from the first enquiry to the completed act. The person who reads your documents is the person who notarises them, so there is no need to explain the matter twice.

Early notice of a deadline helps. If you know a completion date, a board date or a filing deadline, say so in your first message and the appointment can be held.

Office hours are Monday to Thursday, 10:00 to 17:00. Evening, weekend and out-of-hours appointments are available by prior arrangement, and we can attend your workplace or place of business. Mobile visits and appointments outside normal business hours may incur an additional fee, which is included in your quote.

Send document details

What to send first

Four things that speed everything up

Sending these with your first message means a fixed fee can usually be quoted straight away, rather than exchanging emails to establish the basics.

  • A scan or photo of the documents
  • The country they are going to
  • Your deadline, if you have one
  • Any instructions from a foreign lawyer or agent on notarisation or legalisation, for example apostille, consular legalisation or additional documents

Send these with the enquiry form. If the scans are too large to attach, send the enquiry and we will reply with an address to send them to.

Fees

Fees and invoicing

Fees are fixed and an individual fixed fee quote is provided before work commences. Payment is accepted by cash, card or bank transfer, in pounds sterling only.

Simple document

£90 minimum, plus VAT

Notarisation of a simple document such as a passport, driving licence or one page letter.

Where a fixed fee is not possible

£240 per hour, plus VAT

You will be given the fee structure and a proper estimate based on the information provided at the time.

Full fees & disbursements

Disbursements, itemised separately

Third party costs are charged on in addition to the notarial fee and are set out individually on your invoice.

  • Legalisation fees payable to the FCDO and/or Consulate/ Embassy/ Legalisation Agent
  • Translation or interpretation fees
  • Agent fees
  • Courier and postage costs
  • Companies House search fees
  • Verification fees for academic documents, certificates and corporate records
  • Other third-party fees

Cross-border work

Documents leaving the UK, and documents going to Poland

Where the receiving country requires it, apostille and consular legalisation are arranged on your behalf through specialised agents used for document attestation and legalisation worldwide. See apostille & legalisation for how the two routes differ.

Patrycja is a Polish speaker, and we provide notarised translation from Polish to English and from English to Polish of certificates and legal documents. For a company document going to a Polish subsidiary or branch, that means the notarial act, the translation and the certification are handled together, without a separate translation agency in the chain. There is more on this on the home page.

Send the documents, get a fixed quote

Tell us what the documents are, where they are going and when you need them. That is usually enough to quote a fixed fee straight away.
